Cupping

Cupping therapy is an alternative therapeutic technique that involves placing special cups on the skin to create suction. The cups are made of plastic and I may also use cups made from silicon.

During a cupping session, suction is created inside the cups using a  mechanical pump. This suction pulls the skin and underlying tissues upward into the cups, creating a vacuum effect. This can cause temporary discoloration or "cupping marks" on the skin due to increased blood flow and the release of stagnant fluids.

Cupping therapy is believed to help with various conditions, including muscle pain, inflammation, blood flow disorders, and relaxation. It is thought to promote circulation, loosen tight muscles, and release fascial restrictions. Cupping is typically used as part of a broader treatment plan and may be combined with other techniques, although I will use cupping as a treatment in itself.
